Pricing & access
- How much does CaseVault cost?
- Free if you sign up with a school email (anything on a verified .edu, .ac.*, or .edu.*TLD). For everyone else we're running a waitlist while we finalize paid plans — join the waitlist and we'll email you the moment they open.
- What counts as a school email?
- Any university-issued address: harvard.edu, ox.ac.uk, anu.edu.au, etc. We verify automatically from the email domain — there's no upload or transcript step.
- I'm a student but my school doesn't use a .edu domain. What now?
- Email us. We add domains case-by-case so any verifiably-enrolled student gets the free tier — we just haven't catalogued every school's TLD yet.
- Do candidates need to pay?
- No. Candidates participate for free regardless of email. Only the coach scheduling the session needs an active account.
Sessions
- Does the candidate need a CaseVault account?
- No. The coach types the candidate's name (and optionally email) when scheduling. If the email matches a registered CaseVault user, the session shows up on that user's dashboard automatically — if not, the session is just coach-owned and the scorecard arrives via email.
- Can I run a session without a candidate?
- Yes — "Practice this case" from any case page in the Vault starts a solo prep session against yourself. Useful for getting familiar with a case before running it live.
- Can I change timers and notes mid-session?
- Yes. Every page has default stopwatches and note fields from the case template, but you can add, rename, or remove them on the fly. Changes are session-scoped — the case template stays untouched for the next coach.
- What if I lose connection or close the tab mid-session?
- Everything is saved continuously. Stopwatch values heartbeat to the database every 10 seconds while running; notes save 500ms after you stop typing. Re-open the cockpit and you pick up where you left off.
- What happens after I submit the ranking?
- You land on the scorecard with the six-facet ratings, your final thoughts, and the sectional transcript. The candidate gets a printed PDF in their inbox (if you captured an email). They can also re-open the case alongside your feedback any time from their dashboard.
Cases & casebooks
- Where do the cases come from?
- Admins upload PDF case interview books from MBA programs. An AI pass segments each book into individual case interviews, tags every page, and pre-populates timers and note fields. Admins review and publish before cases hit the Vault.
- Can coaches upload their own cases?
- Not yet — case upload is admin-only while we tune the digitization pipeline. If you're a coach with a case book you'd like in the Vault, email us and we'll handle the upload.
- What if a tag on a page is wrong?
- Admins can re-tag any page from the case detail screen — changes log to an audit trail and don't require re-running the AI pipeline. If you spot a problem as a coach, flag it via the feedback button on your scorecard.
Data & privacy
- Who can see my sessions?
- Just you (the coach) and the candidate. No other coach, no public listing, no analytics with personally-identifiable data. Admins of CaseVault can see sessions only when responding to a support request.
- Can I delete my account?
- Yes — from Account settings → Danger zone. For candidates the deletion is immediate. For coaches with completed sessions we require you to cancel or transfer those first (your candidates need to be able to retrieve their scorecards).
- Do you train AI models on my session content?
- No. Notes you type and rankings you submit are private to the session. The only AI in the loop is the case-book segmentation pipeline, which runs on the source PDFs and never sees live session data.
Tools & integration
- Do I need Zoom?
- Not strictly — the cockpit works fine on its own. But most coaches run sessions over Zoom and share the PDF page or exhibit with the candidate live. The Exhibit panel on exhibit-tagged pages lets you copy the rendered PNG straight to your clipboard or drag it into Zoom chat.
- Will it work on my phone?
- The cockpit is built for desktop — it expects a large screen and a keyboard. Marketing pages, the Vault, and the dashboard render on mobile but the live coaching surface assumes you're running it on a laptop.
- Is there a mobile app?
- Not currently. The browser-based cockpit is the only client.
